I’m thrilled to share the incredible experience I had capturing Toria and Val’s summer wedding day in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This celebration at The Bennett Barn was nothing short of magical. Toria and Val, two wanderlust souls who believe in the power of good food, good friends, and good family, tied the knot on July 29, 2023. Let’s dive into their heartwarming story and the unforgettable moments from their special day!
A Love That Blossomed
Toria and Val’s love story started back in high school, where fate brought them together, but they mostly ignored each other 👀. However, destiny had other plans. One day, Val walked into Toria’s workplace, and everything changed. Their connection blossomed into something beautiful, but it wasn’t always smooth sailing. They learned the true value of communication, thinking before speaking, and allowing each other space to grow and pursue their passions. Real, deep love, they discovered, is a journey of learning and understanding.
A Dreamlike Wedding Day:
Toria and Val’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful. Toria looked nothing short of a princess in her gown, radiating charm and grace, and a side of silliness. Watching her bridesmaids rally around her and make her laugh through the nerves was probably my favorite part. There were quite a few times when the tears flowed as the anticipation built and those girls were hands down pros. I couldn’t have picked a better team or Toria myself ❤️. I have to mention the Groomsmen too! Those dudes came prepared to be my personal models. Every single one had the attitude of joy and I loved working with them!
Letters and Celebratory Wine:
One of the most touching moments of the day was when Toria and Val exchanged love letters to be opened a year from then. Placed in a box with celebratory wine, they sealed their words. It was so sweet watching them put a piece of their heart in there knowing that one day those words were going to mean so much more even than they did in that moment.
A Reception to Remember:
The reception was an absolute blast, and it lived up to the promise of “watch, we gonna turn up and turn out!” As a photographer, I was in my element, capturing some of my all-time favorite reception images. The joy and energy on the dance floor were infectious, and I couldn’t help but join in the fun with my camera.
